Originally a circle for as many couples as will, numbered clockwise
In this adaptation, each figure has been given to a different couple, the figures are overlapped and a back-to-back has been added for couple #3. The introduction has also been repeated as an ending. Cecil Sharp published his interpretation in Country Dance Book 3 (1912).
Charles recommends that if the dance is repeated, that the set should circle right one place and renumber to avois monotony.
